During the recent session of presidium of the State Council on innovative development of transportation in Ulyanovsk, LocomoSky Company has submitted a project of aerostatic flying vehicle Locomoskaimer with loadlifting capacity of 600 tons to the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
Experts agree that the heavy-duty cargo airship will gain considerable popularity in industrial sector, and it will among other things cut the costs of transportation, construction and erection works during development of difficult-to-access areas, primarily oil and gas and energy generating assets, including those related to associated petroleum gas processing. Continuing the topic the Governor of Ulyanovsk Region Sergey Morozov said, that the vehicle would be produced on the premises of industrial aria "Zavolzhye".
Making estimate of the "Locomoskyner" project perspectives, The President of the RF asked about techmico-economic characteristics of the new generation deregible. In his detailed report the Chairman of the "LocomoSky" Board of Directors Kirill Lyats gave copious informationabout this type of vehicles. The director of the innovative project, among other things, reported, that Locomoskaimer flying vehicle with loadlifting capacity of 600 tons would cost about USD 120 million, which was the price of An-124-100 Ruslan airplane. However, the lifting capacity of the cargo airship exceeds four times that of the heavy- duty An-124 airplane. Moreover, the airship is capable of delivering cargoes in anywhere in the world without ground infrastructure.
The President of Russia found the work on development of "Locomoskyners"-based air transport system important, and said: "The figures, announced towards this "saucer" (dirigible), extremely impressive - these are thousands million of dollars, all in all, it's a cost of good cargo planes. But it does not mean, that this direction should be neglected. In this very context I support what you say. This is an innovation, if to be honest, but they are already significant".
Speaking on a practical aspect, the Governor of Ulyanovsk Region Sergey Morozov propounded an idea of the transport dirigibles innovation park development in Russia. The idea was supported by the President. Dmitry Medvedev signed the corresponding Order for the RF Government. (find the Video)
