Aleksandr Ivanovich Kharchikov graduated from the Kharkiv Aviation Institute  in 1982 with a specialization in "Aircraft industry". From 1982 - 1990 he worked at the Ulyanovsk aviation industrial complex named after D.F.Ustinov as a design engineer, a test engineer. He was engaged in:
- foundation of the strength test laboratory,
- strength test benches design,
- scientific research management on the creation of automatically controlled system with the aim of determining structural detail stress--strain state by means of hologram interferometry techniques,
- organization and management of Tu-204, An-124 planes component strength test.
From 1990 г. to 2001 г. worked in ZAO (CJSC)  "Design Engineering Department Thermoplane" and "covered the distance" from a leading designer to a deputy chief designer (since 1994 г.) on primary activity. He was involved in aerostatic "Thermoplane"-type flying vehicles design "", directed design work, production development and organization, solution of operational issues on production of the items, including the first Thermoplane model.
From 2001 to  2003 he worked at ZAO(CJSC) "AVIASTAR - SP" as a deputy shop superintendent of  production support work,  as a chief of design engineering bureau of new transport technologies development.
From 2003 г. -to  2006 г. he worked at Ulyanovsk brunch of Experimental Design Bureau named after A.N.Tupolev,  was involved in design and technical support of plane Тu-204 high-lift devices production.
